A Song to Get Everyone in the Summery Mood!!

A blast from the past but this song always puts me in such a happy mood and reminds me of the summer (that's probably down to the music video). I've been loving it so much lately, listening to it in the car with the windows rolled down and doing the cheesy dance moves :)

P.S. There isn't going to be a Friday Favourite this week because I'm going to Disneyland Paris with my family! But I'll make sure to post about the trip as soon as I'm back :)

Friday Favourite #4: Soap & Glory's Glad Hair Day Intensive Conditioner for Full, Frizzy or Fried Hair

Hey Guys!
This week's Friday Favourite is Soap & Glory's Glad Hair Day Intensive Conditioner for Full, Frizzy or Fried Hair. As you can probably tell by now from reading the rest of my blog, I love Soap and Glory products and this one isn't an exception. The thing that draws my attention to Soap & Glory is the gorgeous packaging. I love the 50's theme that runs throughout their products. My favourite thing about the Glad Hair Day Intensive Conditioner is it's scent. IT SMELLS AMAZING!! I can't even explain how nice it smells. Also, I find that it leaves my hair really soft and conditioned which is hard for me to find because I have fairly thick, curly hair that is very dry so the fact that it leaves my hair really soft makes me really like this conditioner. I recently ran out of this conditioner and have purchased it again, and plan to keep repurchasing it in the future. It is fairly expensive for conditioner (€7.75 at Boots) but since it is so intensive you don't need to use it very often so it lasts for quite a long time. If you have normal or thin hair, Soap & Glory also do Glad Hair Day for normal to fine hair-type that you could try; but If your hair is very dry or thick and you want it to smell amazing I would really recommend the intensive conditioner... Love It!!

BOOTS HAUL!!

Hey Guys!! I was recently in Boots and I picked up a few things :)

I found out that a Boots not too far from me sold Real Techniques brushes so i was really excited to go get some more.(I got the stippling brush and stater set from Amazon a few weeks ago because i couldn't find any at my local boots. You can read that blog post here.) I decided to get the blush brush because I read a lot of good things about it online and I like the fact that it could be used not only for blush but for contour, highlighter and powder too. I got the blush brush for €12.99.
The next thing I got was Maybelline the Falsies mascara. I recently ran out of my Benefit They're Real mascara and I thought i would try the Falsies because it is considerably cheaper than the Benefit mascara (at €11.99 whereas Benefits is €27) and I have been wanting to try it for a while because a lot of people swear by this mascara.
The next thing I got is the Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabu Lip Stick in the colour The Missing Pink. My sister had this lipstick already and I tried it and loved it. It's the perfect colour for everyday and it smells like vanilla which i really like. It was dear enough for a lipstick (€12.50), but since I will be using it almost everyday I think that it will be worth it.
The last two things I got were hair products, both conditioners in fact. I got the Soap & Glory Glad Hair Day Intensive Conditioner for Full, Frizzy or Fried Hair (€7.75) because I had ran out of my old one which I loved (review coming soon) and then i got a small bottle of renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Condioner (€2.99) because I wanted to try out Argan Oil and see if it lived up to the hype, but I didn't know if I wanted a big bottle yet because it was quite expensive for conditioner (over €10) and also I wanted to keep using my Soap & Glory Conditioner after the small bottle ran out.

Let me know if you want me to review any of the above products by leaving a comment down below.

Wearable Everyday Pinky/Purple Look Using the Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume III (New York City Palette)

Products used to achieve this look:

Urban Decay’s Primer Potion
Bordello eye shadow by Urban Decay
Last Call eye shadow by Urban Decay
Rockstar eye shadow by Urban Decay
Uzi eye shadow by Urban Decay
Foxy eye shadow by Urban Decay (from naked 2 palette)
Tease eye shadow by Urban Decay (from the naked 2 palette)
Urban Decay's 24/7 glide on eye pencil in Zero
Thick and Fast mascara by Soap & Glory
Essence gel eyeliner in the colour Midnight in Paris
Brushes: Real Techniques base shadow brush
Real Techniques deluxe crease brush
Real Techniques accent brush
Real Techniques pixel-point eyeliner brush
Real Techniques brow brush

Technique:

1. I filled in my eyebrows with Tease using my Real Techniques brow brush.
2. I started the eyes by rubbing Urban Decay’s Primer Potion all over the lid and up to the brow.
3. Then I applied Bordello all over the lid with the base shadow brush.
4. Next I used the deluxe crease brush to apply Last Call to the outer half of the eye and blend it up and through the crease.
5. Then I used the accent brush to add some Rockstar to the real outer corner of the eye, along the outer upper lash line and up through the crease in a V shape.
6. Next I took the base shadow brush and used it to blend the Rockstar in to the the rest of the eye shadow and to blend out the crease so there wasn't a harsh line.
7. For a highlight I applied Foxy just under the brow with the base shadow brush.
8. To brighten up the eye, I used the base shadow brush to apply the tiniest amount of Uzi to the inner corner. (otherwise there would be a lot of fallout)
9. I then lined both my waterline and my tightline with the 24/7 eye pencil in Zero.
10. I then used the pixel-point eyeliner brush to apply the Essence eyeliner to my upper lash    line, winging it out at the ends.
11. For the Final step, I curled my lashes and applied Thick & Fast to my lashes in a zigzag motion.

Hope you like the look!

Friday Favourite #3: Real Techniques Stippling Brush

Hey Guys! Today's Friday Favourite is the stippling brush by Real Techniques. I got this just over a week ago in my Amazon haul and I've been using it everyday since. When i first saw it I was a bit surprised at how small it was because i was expecting it to be around the same size as the Sigma F50 Duo Fibre Brush, but it was a lot smaller with the head of the brush probably half the size of the Sigma F50. I thought that using the stippling brush would take me a lot longer to do my face with than the Sigma F50 but it doesn't. Whereas i had to using a pointed foundation brush to apply my foundation before to get enough coverage and use the Sigma F50 after to blend it out and give it that air brushed look, now all I use is the stippling brush; its small enough to get in around my nose and under my eyes, and it buffs a decent amount of coverage on my face leaving my makeup looking flawless so my foundation actually takes a shorter amount of time than before.

When I was researching it to decided whether or not I should buy it though, I found that a few other people who have bought the stippling brush have had a problem where it has fallen apart after a few months of using and washing it, but this in a very few cases and mine isn't showing any signs of this. There is also a chance that those people might have been too rough when washing their brush or that they had recieved a faulty one. Mine seems fine for now but i will keep ye posted if anything like this happens in the next few months. But my stippling brush's britsle seem strong and not likely to fall out anytime soon. I also think that it is such go value for money for such a good quality brush and this is one of the main reasons that I still bought inspite of the few bad reviews (that and the hundred of reviews raving about how good it was). It is such a soft brush but is made from taklon so that it gives better coverage by not soaking up a lot of product like a brush with real hair would do. I would really recommend this brush and am going to use it to apply my foundation from now on.

Hope this helps with your decision if your thinking about purchasing this brush :)

If you have this brush, have you had any problems with it or do you agree thats it's amazing?
Please leave a comment below. I would love to know what everyone else thinks about this brush.

Friday Favourite #2: Soap and Glory’s Peaches and Clean

Hey Guys! This week’s Friday Favourite is the “Peaches and Clean 4-in-1 Wash-Off Deep Cleansing Milk” by Soap and Glory. This is such a good face wash and it leaves your face feeling really soft after you use it. I use it both as a face wash and to remove my makeup and it works brilliantly for both. Just like it says on the bottle it actually “melts away makeup” so you don’t have to be continuously rubbing you face trying to get it off. It contains ingredients that help soften, purify and deep clean your skin and it smells amazing!! I’d really recommend it. I got it in a big soap and glory set for Christmas called “The Best Of All” so I’m not quite sure how much Peaches and Clean is exactly when sold separately but I think it’s about 8 or 9 euro which isn't too bad for a face wash that cleans, softens, removes makeup and brightens your skin.

The one thing that I don’t really like about this face wash is that it says that it “contains exfoliating alpha hydroxy acids which can make your skin photosensitive” and they recommend wearing sunscreen after you use it. This just makes me really paranoid and worried about my skin if I forget to put on sunscreen but I have never actually seen any negative effects from it so it isn't really a downside; I’m just  overprotective of my skin haha. Overall, I really recommend this product and will be repurchasing it when mine runs out.

P.S. If you want me to review any other Soap and Glory products, just leave a comment :)

Amazon Haul & Good News :)

I’m having such a good day today! I woke up today to find that my Amazon order had arrived and I am sooo excited!!! I got Real Techniques brushes at last. I've wanted these for a while but I have never gotten around to actually buying some until now because they aren't available at my local Boots.  I wasn't sure which ones to get and read a lot of different reviews online about them. I ended up getting the stippling brush and the starter set because I wanted new eye brushes so I wouldn't have to clean the ones I already have so much, and the stippling brush sounded good. The stippling brush was just under €14 (£11.27) and the starter set which included five brushes was €20 (£16.53) which is really good value for brushes. I’m really excited about trying these brushes and will make sure to review them in the next couple of weeks.
I also got a couple of books for Amazon(all for around €7 each or £5.99). I love Pretty Little Liars the TV show so I thought I’d see what the books were like. I got the first three in the series, Pretty Little Liars, Flawless and Perfect. Let me know if you want me to review any of these. Finally, I got American Psycho the book because I really love the movie (especially Christian Bale : P) but was a bit confused by it and the whole ending so I wanted to read the book to see if I could figure out what the hell was going on haha.

Another really good thing that happened today is: I GOT MY CAR RADIO FIXED!!! I can’t even explain how happy this makes me. I love music so much and can’t live without it so having my radio broken was my worst nightmare. It was broken for a good few weeks so I am ecstatic that it’s fixed. Does anyone else feel this way about music or is it just me?? I am getting ready for work now and can’t wait to drive there with my lovely radio and all the CD's I couldn't listen to when it was broken :)

Friday Favourite #1: Shy Girl Lipstick by Mac

Hey Guys, I’m going to do a feature every Friday called the Friday Favourite. This feature will be about the product that I have been loving the most throughout the week. My Friday Favourite this week is a lipstick by Mac called Shy Girl. I just love this lipstick. I originally wanted to get it because it is very similar to the lipstick colour that Jennifer Lawrence likes to wear and she always looks stunning. It is quite expensive for a lipstick and retails at €18 in Ireland but Mac lipsticks are very good quality and I think that they are worth the money especially if you find a colour that you really love (like I did in shy girl J). I really like the colour for everyday and feel that it isn’t the typical everyday pinky toned lipstick but more of a peachy tone. Although it isn’t the “typical” everyday lipstick, I think that it is still very versatile and goes with a lot of different makeup looks including a dark smoky eyes look like the one Jennifer Lawrence wore to the LA premiere of The Hunger Games which you can see HERE at celebuzz.com.

It is a Cremesheen Mac lipstick which means that it has a very creamy finish and this makes it very easy to apply. It doesn’t tend to dry out my lips like many other lipsticks I have tried in the past. It took quite a long time to get it though because it was sold out at my local Mac counter when I first tried to get it and they didn’t get it back in for three weeks!! But I was so happy when they finally got it back in and I can say that it was worth the wait :)
