Happy Halloween | Last Minute Decoration Ideas

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you have a great day and night. I love Halloween so much so today I thought I would share some cute Halloween related Pinterest pictures with you. These are particularly great if you are having a Halloween party tonight and are looking for some last minute ideas, and if not they are just cute and cool ideas that I thought might like to see.

1. Wicked Witch Halloween Cupcakes
This are the cutest cupcakes ever! Unfortunately the recipe in the link I gave is in German I think, but if you can't translate it all in Google translate, then you can always use the pictures as inspiration and create your own with any cupcake recipe. These would look so cute and yummy at a Halloween party!

2. A Handprint In The Punch
I love this idea so much. I'm definitely going to try it out if I ever throw a Halloween party. You just fill a glove with water and freeze it. Then you add it to your punch to get this scary punch bowl for Halloween.

3. Blood Spattered Cookies
Who doesn't want to make and eat blood spattered cookies. It's such a cool, easy idea.

This is a really cute idea for a Halloween diner party. It inspires me to think of other things you could do for this kind of event like personalised scary place setting cards or ghost napkins (which are basically just napkins haha).

5. Wicked Witch Doormat
This is a great idea for decorating you house that I would have never thought of. The only thing I'm not so sure about is that people might be likely to trip over the shoes on the way to your door. There are still plenty of safer places in your house that you can stick witch feet under to get the same cool look.
I hope you like this post and have a great Halloween! Leave a comment down below telling me which one of these is your favourite and also let me know if there are any other cool ideas that I left out.

Positive Thinking

Hey guys, I was just scrolling through Pinterest when I came across this quote, and I though I would share it with you. This is great to think about whenever you are scared to make a decision or worried that you will mess up. What is the worst that will happen? You might make a fool of yourself which everybody does at some point or another, plus a little embarrassment won't kill you. Or maybe you are just scared of trying and failing. Well if you never try, you will never know so it's better to try and fail then continue to think WHAT IF for the rest of your life. Try your best and if you fail, you fail, at least you can say that you tried and that you have no regrets.

Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara Review

Hey guys, today I am reviewing the Seventeen Falsifeye HD mascara. I got this mascara in Boots a month or two ago for €8.99. The box reminded me of Benefit's They're Real mascara because there was a picture on the outside showing the amazing results before and after using this mascara. Also on the box, there was the results of a customer satisfaction survey that showed 94% saw definition, 93% saw separated lashes and 92% saw long lasting results. I knew I had to try it out and see if it was in anyway as good as They're Real because it was way less expensive.

So if you have already watched my Boots beauty haul video, then you will know that I accidentally got this mascara in the colour Black/Brown which I wasn't very happy about. I prefer jet black mascaras so I was annoyed that I didn't get the black one. However, I found that the Black/Brown colour actually is quite dark and it almost passes for black.

I love the brush of this mascara because it's quite skinny so it doesn't get all over my eyelids and it's easier to make sure that I get at all of my lashes. The skinny brush also ensures that I'm able to get a lot closer to the roots than I would with a fatter brush.
I was really happy with this mascara when I applied it. It really makes your eyes pop! I didn't find it as good as They're Real mascara but it was close enough. It doesn't flake and it stays on all day. It's the best drugstore mascara that I've tried so far including Maybelline's The Falsies. Below are the before are after pictures:

Before:
After a coat of the mascara:
Overall, I really like this mascara. It a great dupe foe Benefit's They're Real mascara and it's only $8.99. Unless I had lots of money to spend for some reason or I was treating myself, then I would probably buy this mascara over They're Real because there isn't that great a difference between them and this one is so much cheaper. For an everyday mascara They're Real can cost a lot to keep repurchasing so I think this will be my new everyday mascara and They're Real can be for special occasions and events. Have you tried this mascara before? Let me know what you thought of it in the comments below.

First Impression | Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner

Hey guys, so the other day, I got to try out the They're Real Push-Up Liner for the first time because my friend Aoife had a sample that she let me try. I was a bit disappointed by it though. I found it annoying to push up and a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. One thing that was good about it is that it it was jet black and didn't look grey like some other black eyeliners do. When I was applying it, I found that it was quite difficult, and I had to forcefully drag it across my eyelid. I also found that the product that came out was quite dry which is probably why it was so hard to apply. All the dragging and pulling to the eyelid that this product does would probably lead to wrinkles.

I wore it for a couple hours before I thought of doing a first impression blog post on it and took the picture below. It had worn a bit off by then and you can see that it looks quite dry and cakey. I found it easy the remove though which I wasn't expecting. The full version is very expensive at €25 euros so I would really want to love it and hear great things about it for that price.

Overall, I don't really like this liner and I don't think I'm going to buy it. My friend Aoife likes it but I just wasn't that impressed by it. This is just my first impression of the product because I just tried it out for a couple of minutes so if I had more time with it, I might grow to like it more. I'm sure it would get a little bit easier to apply with practice but that wouldn't stop it from being dry or the rubber applicator dragging across my eyelid with great difficultly. Have you tried this product before? What did you think of it? Am I completely wrong, or do you think that this product is overrated too? Leave a comment below :)

Maybelline Better Skin Foundation Review

Hey guys, today I am reviewing the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin foundation. This is the foundation that I have been wearing for the last month and I'm pretty happy with it. It retails at about €13 which is slightly expensive for a drugstore foundation but not very much. It evens out my skin tone and has a fairly good coverage. You can build on it for more coverage but I prefer to just do the one layer because my skin is quite good at the moment. What I like about this foundation is that it covers up any flaws and evens out the skin tone but it doesn't feel heavy or very noticeable on your skin. It's quite natural looking.

The weird thing about the foundation is that I don't notice it lasting all day or fading away, I know that sounds strange. I feel like at the end of the day my skin still looks really good but it doesn't really look like I'm wearing foundation. There is no powdery or cakey bits, it just blends super smoothly onto your skin. One thing I have to say about this foundation is that for lasting power, I prefer the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix foundation because if I'm wearing it and go to a dance class or go on a run later in the day, it is still there afterwards, whereas this foundation is usually pretty much gone after a fairly intense workout. That's not really a big deal though because there aren't that many foundations that would last through that anyway and I really don't expect them too. The Bourjois one is just an amazing expection [that I've sadly run out of :( ]. In all other cases, I pretty much like this foundation as much as the Bourjois one which I love.

So do you really get better skin by using it? I have pretty good skin anyway, I only get the occasional spot or three, but I have noticed that when I use the foundation, I go longer without getting a spot. I used it most days for a week, and I usually get one of two pimple every couple of days but I noticed that week, I only got a tiny one at the end of the week. Once I stopped wearing the foundation for a while then I noticed my skin pretty much went back to normal. One cool thing about this foundation is that, you know that feeling when you've been wearing foundation for a couple of hours and your skin kind of starts to feel oily in a certain area and you think, "I'm going to have a spot there tomorrow", well with this foundation, I got that feeling a couple of times over the course of wearing it but no spots developed in those areas. So I think that it did help my skin but then again there is a chance it was a coincide and I was just having good skin days. I feel like the foundation did help somewhat though.

Below are before and after applying the foundation pictures so you can see for yourself what you think:
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this foundation. It's not the best thing I've ever tried, but it's probably in the top 5 drugstore foundations I've tried. I like wearing it and will continue to use it until it runs out. I'm not sure if I will repurchase it yet, I might. It's weird, with this foundation, I keep thinking that one day I'm suddenly going to realise that I absolutely love or don't it but it's just not happening. It's just a good foundation, that ticks all the boxes that you need for a foundation but for some reason it doesn't wow me, maybe my foundation standards are too high, and it has to be the most amazing thing ever to impress me. I would definitely recommend you try it out and see what you think because I feel like this review sounds  quite negative even though I do really like this foundation. I might have just been expecting too much.

I hope you like this post. Have you tried out this foundation? I'd love to know what you think of it! Leave a comment down below telling me what you thought :)

Vampire Makeup Tutorial For Halloween

Hey guys! So I'm starting to get really exited for Halloween (even though I have an essay due that day and I'm working that night until 10 :P). Halloween usually doesn't sound like a very exciting night for me because I'm always so busy about that time of year so I've been celebrating it the last few years just by getting lots of food, staying in for the night and watching a couple of horror films. That might sound boring to some of you but I'd much prefer it to a night on the town. Anyway, since Halloween is coming up and I love it so much, I decided to create a makeup look for a vampire to put on my YouTube channel.

This look was pretty easy to create, and I loved going around for the rest of the day looking like a vampire and scaring my family. I would totally wear this on Halloween if I was allowed to go to work looking like that but I might scare the customers haha. I might wear it some other day of Halloween week though just to get in the spirit. If you want to see how I got this look then watch the tutorial below where I show you how to do it.
If you can't watch the embedded video above, click here to see the tutorial.

I hope you liked this video! Do you like Halloween? How are you going to celebrate it this year? If you don't like Halloween, what is your favourite holiday? Leave a comment below :)

How To Add Social Media Icons to Your Blog (Blogger)

Hey guys!! I'm back with another blog tutorial! This is the fourth blog post in this series, so if you haven't read the others yet, here they are: Creating and Adding a Header, Adding a Background, and How to Add the Follow Me on Bloglovin Button to the End of Each Blog Post. Today, I will be showing you how to add social media icons to your sidebar.

1. So the first thing you do is find free social media icons online. If you are more digitally skilled then you can design your own icons yourself, but this tutorial is for people who aren't that great at graphic design. Once you find the ones you like, make sure to save or download them for the next step. Here are the ones I chose for this tutorial:
2. Next you open the image you saved in paint. Crop the icons individually like in the pictures below and save them individually.

3. After you have done this to each of the icons, log in to Blogger and click to write a new blog post. You don't ever publish this blog post and you probably shouldn't delete it either in-case you ever need to edit your social media icons. Now insert the images of the icons that your saved individually, one after the other, until you have them all in the blog post.
4. Next, in another tab,  go to the first social media site that you want to link in the icons and copy the link to your page.

5. Go back to blogger and click on the first icon that you want to do. Once it is highlighted, click the link button (this usually takes two tries for some reason so if nothing happens the first time, highlight the icon image again and click the link button again).

6. A box should appear with the title "edit link". Paste the link to your social media site into the box the says "which URL should this link go to?" and then click OK.

7. Do the last step for each of your social media icons using the link to the corresponding social media link. Basically, do the same for Google Plus with the link to your Google Plus page and the same for Twitter with the link to your Twitter page. Once you are done this, click HTML in the upper left corner.

8. Once you click HTML, the blog post will change to a code. Copy this entire code.

9. Next save the blog post or just go to another tab and click "Layout" in the Blogger menu. Once you are in the layout page, click "Add a Gadget".

10. Once you have clicked "Add a Gadget" a box/other window will appear showing you the type of gadgets you can add. Click to add the HTML/JavaScript gadget as shown below.

11. When the "Configure HTML/JavaScript" box is open, paste the HTML code that you copied from the blog post containing your social media icons into the content box. Then click save.

12. You can move the position of your gadget in the layout page if you aren't happy with it at the top. Go to your blog once you have saved the ideal position (ie. under your about me section or followers). You will now see something like the picture below with the icons on your blog that, when clicked brings you to your corresponding social media sites.
13. If you aren't happy with the way your social media icons are arranged (ie. two beside each other and one on its own), then go back to the draft social media icons blog post that you saved earlier and play around with the position of the icon. You can do this using the space button or by click on the images and clicking right, left or centre. Then go back to step 8 and continue on from there with the new HTML code for the blog post copied.

You might not be able to get the icons in the perfect arrangement that you want (ie. I had to settle for two icons across instead of three for my real icons on my blog) because this depends on the size of the images and the size of your sidebar but you can try adjust those if you really want them a certain way.

I hope you liked this blog post. If you have any questions or were a bit confused about a certain step then make sure to leave a comment below and I will do my best to help :)
