Wetopia

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you all know about a really cool Facebook game that helps raise money for charities in the real world. It's called Wetopia and it's really fun to play. It raises money for different charities through sponsorship and if players decide to spend money in the game for extra rewards (which you don't have to).
In Wetopia, you earn joy instead of points, and you can give this joy to one of the selected charities in the game and this in turn is transformed into real help and money for that charity in the real world.
In the game, you can grow crops and run your town like in other Facebook games but instead of just playing to waste some time while you're bored, you are actually helping people while you play.

Wetopia have already raised lots of money for charity, provided kids with hot meals and helped to build schools where they were needed. One person who openly raves about Wetopia is Ellen DeGeneres, which you can see in one of the videos attached below along with another video telling you all about what Wetopia has achieved so far.

I think this game is such a good idea. It's such an easy and fun way to help people. You can find and play Wetopia by searching Wetopia into the Facebook search bar. I hoped you liked this post :) Do you play Wetopia? What do you think of this kind of way to raise money for charities? Leave a comment below.

Friday Favourite #22 : Bourjois Délice De Soleil Bronzing Powder

Hey guys, this week's Friday Favourite is the Bourjois Délice De Soleil Bronzing Powder. This is my favourite bronzer for using daily. Bronzers are a product that I think you don't have to be too picky about but there are still a couple of things that I really like about this one over other bronzers. The colour I have is no. 14 olive/tanned skin. I like this product because even though it's for olive/tanned skin, it isn't too dark so I can wear it with my everyday makeup look, but it is quite build-able if I want to do any contouring which is great.

The bronzer itself is slightly shimmery but it's very subtle just to add a radiant glow to your skin, and doesn't end up making you look like a disco ball as you might with other shimmery products :P Another thing I really like about this bronzer is the smell, it's so nice. I wasn't really sure how to describe it but I recently read that it's a chocolaty orange scent so if you love Terry's Chocolate Orange then this bronzer could be perfect for you :P Don't worry, it smells nicer than Terry's Chocolate Orange :P

One of my absolute favourite things about this product is the packaging. It's compact so it's easy for travelling, and it also has a little mirror attached to it that can swivel around and stand up so that you can use both hands to do your make up which is really cool, except I accidentally dropped mine on the floor twice now so it doesn't stay up by itself anymore, but at least the powder is intact and the lid is still attached :) A little brush is also included to do your bronzer with but I prefer to use my Sigma powder brush instead because it's way faster to use and easier to blend out with. This bronzer is fairly cheap for €12.99 or £8.99 especially since you can use it as a travel compact mirror as well as a bronzer. I really like it and will be repurchasing it once mine runs out.

Hope you liked this post :) If you want to buy this bronzer you can get it here on Amazon. I'm going to sleep now, I'm getting a train to Paris tomorrow and spending the day there before getting a nine hour bus journey to London and I just really hope that I'm somewhat better tomorrow before I go. That nine hour bus journey would not be fun while still sick :(  Hopefully I can find a doctor in Paris if I am.

I'm Sick :(

Hey guys, today's post is not a very happy one, I've gotten sick. It started on Saturday night after ice-skating earlier that day, where my throat started to feel a little sore and it got progressively worse as the days went on to where it hurt to swallow and now I can't even eat because it hurts way too bad. I haven't been able to go to any of my classes this week or do many blog posts either but I'm hoping that I am getting better and I should have a post up for you tomorrow.

Also, I am going to London on Saturday for mid-term and am not really sure what I'm going to do for internet because my phone is from the stone age :P . I'm hoping to find a internet cafe and post at least two or three times that week but if for some reason I haven't posted much, that is the reason. I'll make sure to do a big post about it as well when I get back.

NOTD: Essie's Island Hopping

Hey guys, as you might have already seen in my Essie nail polish haul that I did earlier this week, I got two different Essie nail polishes here in France. One of them was the colour Island Hopping which I'm wearing in the picture above. In the picture I have two coats of it it on but I noticed that with both of my Essie nail polishes that they come out I lot darker than I had expected them to even after just one coat. That's why I thought I should do a NOTD of each of them for you. I still really like this colour and will wear it but it is very similar to another nail polish I own so I would have been less likely to buy it if I knew it was this dark and like one I already have. Not to worry, I will still make sure to use it all up :)

Friday Favourite #21 Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner

Hey guys, this week's Friday Favourite is Aussie's Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-in Conditioner. This is one hair product that I always use and have been using for the last few years. I really like Aussie products, they are good quality and the smell amazing!! I have pretty dry hair so I like to use a leave in conditioner every so often and this is the one that I use. I also like to use it daily, just spraying some of it on my hair before I go anywhere so that my hair smells really nice and it just kind of freshens it up too.

I recently ombred my hair and I have been trying to keep the dyed blonde part at the end from drying out so I make sure to spray loads of this product on the ends of my wet hair when I get out of the shower to make sure that my hair doesn't dry out and this also help to keep my hair from frizzing too much when it dries. It contains Australian Jojoba seed oil which the bottle says people have used for centuries to naturally condition hair. It is also really good to detangle your hair. If you just spray it in and brush through your hair, it brushes through way easier than without it.

You can get it in Boots, Superdrug or most pharmacies I think (or Walmart or Target if you live in the US). It's around €5 which is okay, I know that you could get a leave-in conditioner for a lot cheaper but I really think this one is worth the money especially if you get it in Boots when all Aussie hair products are 3 for 2. It's a product that I keep repurchasing and know I will continue to repurchase in the future :)

Hope you liked this post :) Have you tried this product? What did you think of it? Leave a comment below :)
You can buy this product here on Amazon.

Essie Nail Polish Haul

Hey guys, I'm so happy because I have finally gotten some Essie nail polishes. I've read a lot of blog posts about them and have been dying to get some but they don't have them where I live in Ireland. I was planning on getting some online but I hadn't gotten around to it when I found a place that sells them here in France. They had so many cool colours that I didn't know what to choose. I ended up choosing two pinkish toned colours that I thought I would get a lot of wear out of instead of bright fun colours because they were quite expensive and I wanted to get some that I knew I would definitely wear a lot.

The two colours I got were Bahama Mama (on the right) and Island Hopping (on the left). I really like these two colours for fall and winter and think I am going to wear them quite a lot. Bahama Mama is actually more of a darker plum colour than in the picture but I couldn't get it to show up on my camera. I really like Island Hopping and think that it will be my favourite of the two. It's very neutral so it can go with anything. I've already tried Bahama Mama and it came out a lot darker than I had expected but i still really like it. I'll make sure to do a NOTD of each of them soon so you can see what they are like.

I knew I had to get these because I had wanted to try Essie for ages but I don't think that I would buy a lot of their nail polishes because they are very expensive. I was going to get another colour that I liked ("overboard" in case you were wondering) but it was just so dear altogether, I would have spent over €30 on nail polish. Individually they were €11.90 each which is very expensive, I know that I would have been a lot more likely to buy more if they were on offer, but sadly they weren't :( I think they would be something that I would treat myself to one of every so often when I have the money because they are supposed to be really good quality.

Hope you liked this post :) I will be doing a NOTD of each of these soon so make sure to check back to see them. What do you think of Essie nail polish? Do you think they are worth the money? Leave a comment below. You can buy Bahama Mama here or Island Hopping here on the Essie Website.

Small 21st Birthday Haul

Hey guys, in this post I just wanted to show you some cool things I got for my 21st Birthday. These are just a couple of things because I sent some of my stuff home with my family because I couldn't fit them in my small suitcase to bring back to Rennes (where I am studying for 4 months).

The first thing I got was this gorgeous bag from Accessorize. I absolutely love it!!  The colours in it are really neutral so I use it everyday with almost any outfit. I also really love that it's big enough to carry a notebook for college so I don't have to keep changing bags.
The next thing I got is this blue Casio Baby G watch. I remember these used to be out when I was like ten and my sister had a pink one. They are really cool. It can set an alarm, has a stop watch and can light up in the dark so you can always read what time it is. It is also blue which is my favourite colour so I love it a lot and have been wearing it everyday since I got it.

The last thing I got is this set from Benefit. It's called " Her Name Was Glowla" and it has loads of mini Benefit products in it including High Beam, Moon Beam, Coralista blush, BadGal Lash mascara, Life on the A List lipgloss and five neutral eye shadows. This is the perfect set to create a pretty natural everyday makeup look and I can't wait to start using it :)

Hope you liked this post :) Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday! I had a great birthday and got loads of great presents that I love :)

Friday Favourite #20 : Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer

Hey guys, today's Friday Favourite is the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in the colour Beige. I got this concealer in my duty free haul on the way to France for €19.95. It is a corrector for under eye circles and I am always looking for a good concealer for under my eyes so I thought I would splurge a little and see if this one would work. You may already know from reading my blog that I have been on the hunt for the ultimate concealer but haven't been able to find one that's good enough to be able to cover up my dark circles. I'm not sure I've found it yet but this is the best concealer for under eyes that I've found so far.

It's really creamy, easy to apply and provides a great amount of coverage. Because this concealer is a corrector, it is a peach-based tone to help neutralize under eye circles. If a concealer is pink or peach- based, it will cover dark circles better than a concealer that isn't so it's better to choose a concealer that is made specifically to cover dark circles. It is very travel friendly and comes with a small mirror attached as the lid. You can easily apply it with your finger but i prefer to use the Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush (which comes in the RT Starter Kit with 4 other brushes for €20) because I think it helps me build a bit more coverage.

My problem with this concealer is the price, €19.95 is a lot to pay for a concealer no matter how good it is and I don't think there is anywhere near where I live that sells Bobbi Brown so I'm not sure if I will be repurchasing this product. I think I will still continue my hunt to find the ultimate concealer, focusing more on finding a cheaper one. I'm dying to try out the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer which is a lot cheaper than the Bobbi Brown one, and I've heard rave reviews about it, but if that one turns out not to be that good, I'll make sure to go straight back to Bobbi Brown.

                                                                          BEFORE:

                                                                          AFTER:

Hope you liked this post :) If you are interested in getting this concealer, you can buy it here on Amazon. What is your favourite concealer? Please leave a comment below :)

Paris Trip For My 21st Birthday

Hey guys, as you might already know, I went to Paris for my 21st birthday. I went there for three days and had an amazing time. All of my family flew over to see me, along with my best friend (whose birthday was the day after mine), her sister and two of my friends who are living in France with me. I got loads of presents and got to see loads of the sights in Paris.

I absolutely hate walking around looking for things, so we made sure to get the Hop On Hop Off Bus that takes you all around Paris to all the major tourist sites. This bus would stop at each site so you could choose if you wanted to get off or go to the next one. If you did get off, you could do whatever you wanted there and you could get back on another Hop On Hop Off Bus whenever you were done there because a new bus would come every ten minutes or so.

On this bus, we saw lots of different famous tourist attractions in Paris, including the Arc de Triomphe,  the Louvre, the Champs Elysees and the Eiffel Tower. When we got to the Eiffel Tower, we got of the bus and queued up to go to the top of it. I didn't really like the look of the Eiffel Tower up close; it was a bit of an eye-sore and was actually brown instead of grey which it appears to be from far away. We queued for ages to get to the top and there was a great view from there but then we had to queue for ages again to get back down. It took over three hours overall to get to the top of it and get back down again. I know a lot of people love the Eiffel Tower but I thought that it was a bit overrated. Some of my friends, however, went a while after me and they didn't have to wait three hours. They said that the wait was fairly okay, but the couples who were all over each other on the way to the top, standing beside them, were really annoying.

This was something I noticed a lot in Paris. The couples were all over each other all the time. They say that Paris is the city of love but I felt more like it was the city of PDA. Couples were kissing and cuddling everywhere you looked. There was one thing I saw that was really weird; a guy was cradling a girl like she was a baby, swinging her to and fro for about five minutes with his hand on her arse and I couldn't believe it. It was just such a random thing to do.
Yes I took a picture of it. I needed to show you all how weird it was :P

One of my favourite things that we did in Paris was our trip to the Zoo. There was loads of really cool animals there but my two favourites were the crocodile and the snow leopard. The snow leopard was so cool, he keep walking back and forth at the front of the enclosure like he was showing off for all the people watching him, whereas all the other large cat animals were far at the back lying down in their enclosures. He was my overall favourite animal there and had the coolest tail ever; it was so fluffy.

This was my friend's favourite animal in the zoo; a red panda
One cool thing that I got to do on my last day in Paris was to try some snails. People always say that the french eat snails and frog's legs and I've always wondered what they would taste like. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a restaurant that did frog's leg so I guess I'll do that another time, but I got to order a starter of large burgundy snails in a restaurant in Montmartre. I tried them and they were nice enough but it was kind of funny trying to get them out of their shells with the strange utensils provided.
Overall, I had a really good birthday in Paris with my family and friends and got to do lot of amazing things.
Hope you liked this post. Have you been to Paris? What did you think of the Eiffel Tower? And have you ever tried snails? Would you? Please leave a comment below :)

Quick Update

Hey guys, this is just a little update to let ye know that there won't be a Friday Favourite tomorrow because I am going to Paris for my 21st birthday and will be leaving very early tomorrow morning. Also because of this, I won't have any internet for the weekend so there won't be any posts until at least Monday. Sorry I haven't been posting as regularly as I usually do lately but I've been so busy trying to get everything organised over here (in France) as well as trying to keep up in my classes because they are all in French, which I'm not so good at :P I'm hoping I can sort everything out soon enough, and the posts should be back to normal within the next week or two.
I hope ye can understand x
