Hair History

Hey guys, Today's blog post is going to be my hair history. My hair has always been a bit mad over the years so I thought I'd let you see some of the horrible pictures and show you what it was like.
This picture is a perfect example of my crazy hair. It looks pretty wild and crazy but this was probably the only time in my life where a bob actually seemed to suit me a bit.
I don't know what to say about this picture. I don't remember my hair ever being this short since being a toddler but apparently, it was. Also, I don't know whether that is a coat I'm wearing or overalls but this picture looks like I was dressing up as some sort of worker man. (Which I'm pretty sure I wasn't)
This picture shows the main problem that I had with my hair over the years; instead of growing downwards, it grew outwards. It basically looks like a triangle here...awkward.
I actually kind of like my hair here. At least I was trying to do something to it. So I went with the classic pigtails, only they don't look so classic on curly hair :P
Okay, what the hell happened in this picture?? My hair, and my sister's (who you can't see), is completely crazy. The good news is that I have confirmation from my mother that I never left the house with this hair, and that the picture was probably taken just after I woke up so nobody saw it....until now :O
I'm pretty sure that this picture was taken just after I had gotten my hair straightened for the first time. I look pretty proud of myself and you can tell that I was so happy to finally have "normal" hair.
Fast forward to like ten years later and you will see that I still like to straighten my hair (but mostly for events because it took too long to do every day). I'm sure there is a whole period of my life that I've missed in this post where I wore my hair in a bun for years, but that was also around the time where I liked to avoid cameras so not many pictures of that exist.
Finally, here is my hair looking pretty much the same as it does today (minus the ombre). I gave up the idea of straightening it because it took too much time and effort, so now, I mostly leave it as my natural curls.

If you haven't seen it already, then you might like to see my curly hair routine video that I put up a few weeks ago. In case you are wondering, the giveaway that I mention at the end of the video is now over, but hopefully, the curly hair tips will still help you.

Can Women Fix Cars?

Hey guys, so the other day, I realised that I my car had a puncture. Luckily I was about a minute from home when I noticed, so I didn't get stranded anywhere. My parents were on holiday at the time so I waited for them to get home the next day before I tried to fix it. Now I know a bit about cars, not a lot, but I do know how to change a tyre, well at least in theory. My dad helped me change the tyre and I honestly don't think I could have done it on my own.  I would love to be a person who can fix their car on their own but there are some things that just require brute strength to do. I realised that I did not have this brute strength when I was jumping up and down on a wheel brace, using my full weight to try to loosen the lug nuts with absolutely no result. This was what it took for my dad to loosen them and he weighs quite a bit more than me. I felt so weak and was really disappointed that I couldn't do it by myself. It can be quite a difficult challenge for women to do especially if the lug nuts are especially tight, and if you are particularly weak like me. I definitely think that certain women can fix cars and change tyres just as good as men, but these women aren't as weak as me. I'm going to have to work on getting stronger for the next time that I get a puncture, so that I can do it myself in the middle of nowhere if I have to. What do you think? Do you think that you could change a tyre by yourself? Have you done it before? Do you have any tips on how to do it if you aren't particularly strong?
Leave a comment below. I'd love to hear what you think.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette Review + Giveaway (closed)

Hey guys, today I am reviewing the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. I recently got this palette and I really love it. Most of my favourite eye makeup looks are neutrals so all of the Naked palettes are right up my street. What I love about this palette is that it's got loads of lovely pinky toned colours so I don't have to rely on all brown shades like I usually do. Two of my favourite eye shadows in this palette are Buzz and Trick. I just think they are so pretty and shimmery, and completely different from that shades that I usually wear.
The palette contains twelve eye shadows that start at the lightest on the the left and got to the darkest the right. I think that this palette comes with quite a good brush compared the the other two Naked palettes. It has a flat slide to apply a generous amount of eye shadow to your lid, and it also has a fluffy part so you can blend out your eye shadow. The fluffy side is much easier to use than the fluffy side of the brush from the Naked 2 palette. Like all Urban Decay shadows, they are great quality especially when you use one of the Primer Potion samples that comes with the palette beforehand. The samples included are Eden, Sin, Original and Anti Aging. My two favourites so far are Sin and Original. I always used the Original Primer Potion before I got this Palette and I like that it's plain and really just brings at the pigmentation in your eye shadows, but I do like that Sin is already a shimmery base colour so that you could use it as your lid colour and just put some eye shadow through your crease with a fluffy brush to finish the look.

Here is a closer look at the colours in the palette:
L-R Strange, Dust and Burnout
L-R Limit, Buzz and Trick
L-R Nooner, Liar and Factory
L-R Mugshot, Darkside and Blackheart

Swatches of the eye shadows
Overall, I really like this palette just like I do with all the Naked palettes so far. It's definitely gonna be my go-to palette for the next few months if not longer. I really can't think of anything bad to say about it. If you are interested in buy this palette you can get it here on the Urban Decay website, or You can enter my International Giveaway to win a Naked 3 palette here (Ends the 27th of May 2014).

I hope you liked this post. Please give it a like on Bloglovin or a +1 on Google Plus. What is your favourite palette? It can be eyes, cheeks, lips, etc. Leave a comment below.

My Fashion History: Part 1

Hey guys, so I found lots of old pictures of me the other day and decided that I should do a post of my horrible fashions throughout the years so you can all have a good laugh.
I'll start with a picture of me as a baby. I don't really have a problem with this outfit but I thought that it was a good example of 90's fashion. I actually really like the colour of the jacket and that fact that it matches my shovel :P
I don't know what to say about this outfit. The waistcoat thing is just hideous. This is probably the most hideous picture of me that exists. This picture, plus a lot more, really makes me question my mother's fashion sense.

Here is me wearing a bumbag in my back garden. There was no practical reason for me to be wearing it so I must have thought that they were cool. The more this post goes on, the more I think how weird 90's fashion was. Are bumbag's coming back into fashion though? Click here to read my blog post about it.

Here I am on Santa's lap wearing a full Reebok tracksuit. It's a bad thing that I wore this to see Santa because that means that these were my good Christmas clothes. I probably bought them a week or too before, thinking that they were the nicest clothes in the world. Also, I really hate these colours together.

Here is a dress that I used to wear a lot.It had load of cherries on it and it came half-way down to my shins. It's a bit Little House On The Prairie which makes sense because my mom actually named me after Laura Ingalls, so maybe she was trying to make me look like her :P

This is me on Christmas Day in my onesie so I now know where my love of onesies came from. (well other then when I wore them as a small baby) I remember that I had more than one onesie at this age and I literally wore them until I couldn't anymore because I had outgrown them, so you can imagine how happy I was when to came back into fashion and were available in adult sizes.

Here I am on my 7th birthday wearing the most hideous shirt that I have ever seen, and I remember that it was made out of the strangest material ever. I don't understand why I liked it. I love the fact that I'm also wearing a spy watch at the same time. I remember that those watches were really cool and held gum in them.

So that was my fashion history post. I will probably do another one some day of my teenage years, if I can find any pictures (I always avoided the camera in those years :P). If you were wondering what the hell was going on with my hair in these pictures, don't worry, I will be doing a hair history post soon enough. If you liked this post make sure to give it a like on Bloglovin and leave a comment below telling me what your biggest fashion disaster was.

Catching Fire Inspired Look

Hey guys, so today, I wanted to show you all another makeup look done using the Naked 3 Palette. When I first got the palette, the two colours that stood out the most for me, and the colours that I most wanted to try were Buzz and Trick. Buzz is a gorgeous shimmery pink colour that I have already used in my Pretty in Pink makeup look, and Trick which is a metallic orangey sort of colour. So I decided that I definitely wanted to use Trick today's look. I originally wanted to put a light shimmery brown colour in the crease and outer corner, but I was too inspired by the makeup looks that Katniss wears in The Hunger Games Catching Fire film that I watched last night. I then decided to try to recreate the shape of the makeup that she wears, which is really pointed upwards and outwards, and to really darken it up in the corners. So that is what lead me to create this makeup look. I'll now tell you what products I used and what I did.
Products Used:

Face:
Foundation: Bourjois Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix Foundation
Concealer: Soap and Glory Trick or Treatment
Bourjois Délice de Soleil Bronzing Powder

Eyes:

Colours from the Naked 3 Palette:
Nooner- to fill in eyebrows
Strange- to highlight brow bone
Trick- applied all over the lid and under the eye (the inner half)
Factory- brought through the crease, blended out and under the eye (the outer half)
Blackheart- in the real outer corner and brought up and out to a point.

Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner (Black Ink)
17 Eyeliner Pencil (Black)
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

Lips:
Mac's Shy Girl Lipstick

I Hope you liked this post :) If you haven't yet entered my International Giveaway to win a Naked 3 palette, click here to go to the blog post where you can enter. (closes 27th May 2014)
