Soap & Glory Crazy Sexy Kohl Review

Hey guys, today I want to review the Soap & Glory Crazy Sexy Kohl set. I got this set for Christmas but you can buy a lot of these eyeliner kohls separately. Not only does the set come with five different colour smoulder kohls but I also comes with three gorgeous shades of eye shadow.
The five colours of smoulder kohls that are in the set are Superblack (a black), Cocoa Bean (a brown), Aquabat (a metallic greenish colour), Blue My Mind ( a metallic blue colour) and Grapevine ( a metallic purple colour). I really like the quality of these pencils. They are really pigmented and waterproof. They are also perfect for smudging or smoking out with a brush but then if you don't smoke them out they don't end up all over your face, they stay put for a really long time. Here are some swatches of the colours and a picture of me wearing Aquabat:

I also really love the three eye shadows that come in the set. They are Aubersheen, Smokin' and Dandy Plum. They are such pretty shimmery neutral shades. Here are the swatches:
Overall, I really like this set and don't have anything bad to say about it. The smoulder kohls and eye shadows are really good quality and I love all the colours. I'm so glad I got this set. I might do a eye makeup look later this week with it for you all so make sure to check back to see that.

I hope you liked this post. Please give it a like on Bloglovin or a +1 on Google Plus if you did. If you are interested in getting this Soap & Glory set, you can buy it here on Amazon.

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Hey guys! So, because Mother's Day is coming up I thought that I would show you some of my gift ideas for it just in case you haven't got anything yet.

1. Pink Floral Quilted Makeup Bag - River Island (€17)
The first thing I thought that could be a nice Mother's Day present was this pink quilted makeup bag. It's just a really pretty makeup bag. It's a little expensive for a makeup bag but you can always get one that's just as nice in Pennys/Primark if you don't have much money to spend.
2. Personalised Card - funkypigeon.com (from €2.99)
I think personalised cards a such a great idea. There are loads of really cute/funny designs that you can choose from and personalise. I think funky pigeon only ships to the UK and Ireland but if you want personalised cards and you are from the US or Australia, then go to moonpig.com.
3. Vanilla Cupcake Scented Candle - Yankee Candle (around €20)
If your mom likes candles, then this present is the way to go. I chose Vanilla Cupcake because Vanilla is my favourite scent so I think this candle would smell really yummy!
4. Dolce by Dolce and Gabbana - Boots (€61)
If you have a big budget for Mother's Day or you just really want to spoil your mom, then why not buy her the new Dolce and Gabbana perfume called Dolce. It's pretty expensive but I bet that getting it for your mom will keep you in her good books for the next few months, if not for the whole year! If you don't have that much to spend then there are plenty of much cheaper perfumes out there that smell amazing.
5. Soap and Glory Bad Day Box- Boots (€20)
The last thing I chose was this Soap and Glory gift set. It's only €20 and it contains three great Soap and Glory products which are Foam Call shower gel, Pulp Friction body scrub and Butter Yourself body lotion. It's the perfect gift for any stressed-out mom.

So those were my Mother's Day gift ideas. I hope they helped you somewhat in making your choice for Mother's Day. If you liked this post, please give it a like on Bloglovin or a +1 on Google Plus and make sure to leave a comment down below telling me what you are getting your mom for Mother's Day.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Review

Hey guys, today I'm doing a review of the infamous Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay. I've already reviewed the original Naked palette which you can read here. I love the both the Naked and Naked 2 palettes because I always really love to do a neutral eye look. I can't wait to get the Naked 3 palette and try it out.
So this is what the inside of the palette looks like. It contains twelve neutrally eye shadows, a mirror and a double sided brush with both a flat and a fluffy side. I think it also came with an Urban Decay lip gloss too, which is nice but I would have preferred if it came with an Urban Decay Primer Potion like the original Naked palette did. Urban Decay eye shadows are really good quality and last super long, especially when you use the Primer Potion with it.

I prefer the first half of this palette (from L-R) to the other half because I love warm brown tones. I do use the other half too though because they are really gorgeous colours, and I recently did a blog post of a silver and black smokey eye using this palette.

So here is a closer look at the colours that come in the palette:

And here are the swatches of the eye shadows:
So that is the Naked 2 Palette. I probably prefer the colours overall in this palette to the ones in the Naked palette but then one of my ultimate favourite eye shadow combinations (Sin & Buck) are in the Naked palette so I don't know which one I would choose if I had to choose between them. If you are interested in buying the Naked 2 palette, you can buy it here on the Urban Decay website or you can get it at your local Urban Decay counter.

I hope you liked this post. Give it a like on Bloglovin or a +1 on Google Plus if you did. I'm thinking of doing a giveaway of one of the Naked palettes in the next few months (maybe for my blog's 1 year anniversary in May) so let me know in the comments below if that would be a prize that you would like to win and also let me know which of the Naked palettes that you would like to win.

How to be Lucky!

Happy saint Patrick's day everyone!! So, because it is saint Patrick's day, and I am Irish, I thought that I would talk to you all about luck. We've all heard of the phrase "The luck of the Irish" and I don't know about the rest of the Irish, but I do think that I have a certain amount of luck on my side. I'm not lucky when it comes to winning competitions or anything, which rarely, if not ever happens, but there have been a lot of times when it seemed like there was no way that things would go my way and it turned out alright in the end. Whether it's getting a college assignment submitted for the deadline and doing quite well even if I only did it the night before, catching a train on time when an hour before, my friend and I were lost and running through the streets of Paris, or randomly deciding that I want to change half of my degree in the second semester of third year and getting away with it. I think that this luck may have started out a just being luck, but over time I have begun thinking that, even if it seems like there is no hope, that it will somehow work out, and the majority of the time it does.

I saw this quote, and thought of how a lot of times in life when I thought that it would somehow work out, and that a problem would eventually resolve itself, that it actually did. The quote also reminds me of one of the Harry Potter books where Harry pretends that he gave Ron a lucky potion so that Ron would do well in a Quidditch match and Ron ends up doing well anyway because he thinks that he is lucky. The belief that he was lucky gave him the confidence to succeed. I think a lot of so called luck is a mixture of confidence and belief that it's going to work out no matter what while doing everything that's in your power to make it happen, and being pessimistic is only going to bring you down and ensure that it won't end up okay.

I hope you liked this special saint Patrick's day post. Make sure to leave a comment down below telling me of any times that you were lucky or of any time that didn't seem like things were going to work out but they did in the end.

Silver and Black Smokey Eye Makeup Look

Hey guys, so today, I thought that I would do a different sort of makeup look for you all because I always automatically seem to go for the browns, golds and really neutrally colours so thought that I should try something different. I decided to do a silver and black smokey eye using the Naked 2 palette.
Here is the look:
How to achieve this makeup look:

Eyes:

From the Naked 2 Palette:

Verve across the lid
Busted through the crease (well blended out using a fluffy brush)
Blackout in the outer corner (also well blended out)
Foxy to highlight under the eyebrows

Maybelline Expression kajal gentle precision eyeliner in no. 33 Black to line the waterline and tight line.
Essesnce eyeliner pen (extra longlasting) to line around the eyes and to wing it out.
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara.

Face:

Foundation used: Bourjois radiance reveal healthy mix foundation
Eye shadow colour to fill in eyebrows: Tease (from Naked 2 Palette)
Cheeks: Soap and Glory's Glow all out

Lips:

No 7 Stay Perfect Lipstick in the colour Classic Rose

I hope you liked this makeup look. If you did, make sure to give it a like on Bloglovin or a +1 on Google Plus. Let me know down in the comments below if you would like to request a makeup look.

Short Update + Big News!!

Hey guys, so the last couple of days have been a bit crazy because I have been so busy with college work. It's actually only been 3 days since my last blog post but it feels like it was ages ago. Basically, this last week and next week are really full up with college assignments. They just all seemed to fall in the same two weeks. I would have preferred to do a slightly more interesting post today but I'm pretty exhausted  from staying up til half 5 in the morning to finish an English essay, then cramming in 3 hours of sleep before getting up to go to college for the day, and now that I am home and it is Friday evening, I can't wait to watch the new Grey's Anatomy that is out and relax for a little while before I start planning my next essay, so I just thought I would fill you in on everything that's going on.

So I just wanted to let you all know that I'm going to try to still be getting a blog post up every second day or so this coming week, but if there is some sort of absence on my blog, which would really be unlikely to be more than 3 or 4 days, that hopefully everything should be back on track next week and it is only because of all the assignments I have coming up. I'll have a post up this weekend anyway :) Isn't annoying how in college or school that every so often you just get tons of assignments together and then like a week or two with hardly any?

So what is this big news, you may ask? Well since I was already writing a post updating you all, I thought that I might as well mention...that I'm starting a Youtube channel!! I've been wanting to start one for such a long time now but kept putting off because it is a pretty scary thing to do, but I've decided that it is now or never....well, almost now. My Youtube channel will be starting in the next month, maybe in the next two or three weeks which is so scary but I thought that it might help if I told you a ball park time of when it will start, so that I can't put it off any longer than that. My Youtube channel will have beauty videos and makeup tutorials but I really don't want it to be only about beauty so I will be throwing in some Tags/ challenges/vlogs and maybe some skits too if I can pull them off. My channel will have a new video up every week, and one of the reasons I have been so busy lately is that for the last few weeks, I've been trying to film and edit a video a week so that I would know if I can stick to that schedule or not and it seems like I can, which is great! So, there are just a couple of things left that I need to sort out in the next two or three weeks, along with waiting for all my college assignments to calm down, and then I will have my very own Youtube channel. (I almost never thought that I would be saying that because I have been putting it off for so long :P )

I'll make sure to post the first video to my blog so that you all can see it and can subscribe if you would like to, so make sure to check back if you would like watch it. You can follow my blog on Bloglovin if you want and then you will see when the post is up and don't have to keep checking back :)

NOTD: Essie's Mind Your Mittens

Hey guys, today I want to do a quick nail of the day for you all of Essie's Mind Your Mittens. The reason why I wanted you to see what this nail polish looks like on your nails is because I find that with Essie nail polish, that the colour always comes out much deeper on your nails than what it appears to look like from the bottle, and I didn't want you to buy it thinking it was the same as the bottle. I do like the colour when it is on my nails and I will continue to wear it, but I think that I would have much preferred this nail polish if it was a slightly lighter shade like what it appears to be on the bottle. I found that it came out this dark after only one coat which was a bit of a shock because I was expecting it to be much lighter. I still love Essie nail polishes though because they are great quality and take quite a long time to chip, but I'm going to be a little more wary the next time I buy one of them because this isn't the first time that one of them came out darker than on the bottle.

Superhero Haul

Hey guys, today I wanted to show you a small haul that I got yesterday in Dublin. It all started when I saw a Marvel T-shirt in River Island that was really cool but was only available in children's boy's sizes. Someone that I was with at the time told me that they were pretty sure the saw a really similar T-shirt in Pennys that was avaiable in women's sizes. Off I went to Pennys in search of the superhero T-shirt, when I remembered that I saw that someone had gotten really cool superhero pj's in Pennys in a haul on their blog (I can't remember who it was now).

While I was in Pennys, I quickly found the superhero pj's that I wanted plus another pair with shorts that would be perfect to wear during the summer. After this we proceed to search all over Pennys for the T-shirt that I wanted and eventually found that it wasn't there. I bought the pajamas and decided to head back over to River Island to try on the boy's size of the one I saw earlier which looked quite big for a child's size. The kid's sizes in River Island only go up to 11-12 which sounds quite small but I liked the T-shirt so much that I decided to try it on. (Plus I'm no stranger to buying kid's clothes because they often have really nice things that fit me and they are much cheaper than adults clothes, and really who is going to know? Unless you tell everyone who reads your blog :P) The T-shirt fitted perfectly so I bought it for €14 with my student discount which is really good for a T-shirt in River Island. I might do an OOTD to show you what it looks like on and what I would wear it with. Don't judge me :P
So here are some pics and the prices of the items that I got in my haul:

Marvel pj's with shorts: Pennys/Primark €8

I heart boys in uniform pj's : Pennys/Primark €12

Marvel T-shirt: River Island €16
I hope you liked this haul. Give it a like on Bloglovin or a +1 on Google Plus if you did . Do you ever buy children's clothes or do you think that is really weird? Leave a comment below with what you think.
