How To: Blue Ombre Nails

Hey guys, today I'm showing you a step by step tutorial to get these textured blue ombre nails. I recently got a nail art set so I decided to try it out with a new nail look.
I started off just sort of making it up as I went along but then I decided to do an ombre nail look. The colours I used were white, a dark navy blue and black. Any nail polishes that are these colours will do or you could also use another colour instead of navy blue if you wanted a different coloured ombre nail look.
The first thing I did was two or three coats of white nail polish over the entire nail. I then waited for it to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
I then applied the navy blue colour over the white. After the nail was fully coated in blue I quickly moved on to the next step before it dried fully, while it still had a tacky feeling.
I took a dotting tool and scraped the blue nail polish off my nails until I could see little lines or dots of white underneath. I only did this on the top third of my nail.
I then painted some black nail polish on the lower third of my nail. I did this sort of messily and in an upwards direction, not straight across, so it would blend into the other colours a bit easier.
Next, I took my dotting tool again and pressed it into the nail polish a couple of dozen times over the entire nail to create a bumpy textured affect.
I then let it dry almost fully and pressed down on the entire nail with my thumb to flatten the bumps to create a better finish that would last longer. I also did an accent nail which was just basically blue glitter on the nail so that all of the nails wouldn't be the same.
So that is the tutorial. I hope you enjoyed this post. If you did, make sure to save it on Bloglovin or give it a +1 on Google Plus. Also, let me know in the comments below if you have ever tried out ombre nails before or if you are going to try them out now with this tutorial. Talk to you soon.

**CLOSED** WIN an Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette | International Giveaway

Hey guys, today is the start of my brand new international giveaway to win an Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette. This giveaway is in celebration of my YouTube channel reaching 1600 subscribers!! Thank you to all of you who have subscribed to my channel and followed my blog <3 It means a lot to have so much support for them both. Anyway..on to the giveaway.
As I've said already the giveaway is of an Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette which is the newest Naked palette to come out. You might be able to tell by its name but this palette's eye shadows are perfect for creating smoky eye makeup looks. My first thought when I saw this palette was how cool the packaging is. It's just so pretty, probably my favourite of all the Naked palettes. It has a hard case which is great for storage and would be easy to wipe clean, unlike the furry sort of finish that the original Naked palette has.
Inside you get twelve eye shadows. Some of them are shimmery and some are matte, although I think the majority of them are shimmery. The colours vary from warm golds and browns to cool blues and greys. This palette is so versatile that you could basically use it for any occasion, from an everyday look to a very dark makeup look.
Here is a closer look at the colours:

Now onto some of the conditions of the giveaway and the rules on how to enter. All entries will be verified to keep the giveaway fair. The giveaway will have already started when this blog post is published (18th August 2015) and will end midnight the 22nd September 2015. This is not a sponsored giveaway and the prize has been bought with my own money. Below are the different ways to enter the giveaway.

  a Rafflecopter giveaway
The winner will be notified within 24 hours after the giveaway ends and will have 48 hours to respond before I pick a different winner. I will do an update blog post to let you all know who the winner soon after the giveaway ends. Leave a comment below letting me know which is your favourite colour from the palette and why you would like to win it! Thank you all again for supporting my YouTube channel and good luck in the giveaway!!

MAC Rebel Lipstick Review

Hey guys, so recently I bought myself a new MAC lipstick as a treat. I wanted a sort of dark, vampy, purple one for autumn so I decided on Rebel. It is a satin finish lipstick and it is a sort of middle ground between red and purple.
MAC lipsticks are some of my favourites. I only treat myself to them once in a blue moon because they are so expensive so I'd say I only have four in total (except I've lost my Shy Girl lipstick recently which I am pretty upset about because it was my favourite one). The reason why I love MAC lipsticks is their quality. They are so pigment and they last for hours. This is the main reason that I tend to go for MAC if I'm looking for a very bright or bold lipstick; the quality isn't as important for me when I'm looking for a neutral colour. This is my first Mac satin finish lipstick and I really like it. It's very similar to their matte ones and lasts just as long, although I think it doesn't dry out your lips as much as the matte ones.

I've been wearing this lipstick with either a red lip liner or a purple liner underneath because it gives a slightly different look to the shade. I think I prefer wearing a purple lip liner though because when I bought it I had very purple lips in mind, and a red lip liner makes it more winey which is similar to another lipstick that I have.

Penneys/Primark sell a very cheap lip liner that is a perfect match to this lipstick in their PS Love collection. It's called Plum and I think it was only €1:50. I just love pairing this liner with the lipstick because it comes out the perfect autumnal purple colour.
Here is what Plum and Rebel look like together when applied to my lips:
I really love this lipstick and think I am going to wear it quite a lot over the next few months. I got it mostly for autumn/winter but I love it so much that I've already started wearing it on nights out. What do you guys think of very bold lipstick colours? Do you love them or tend to stay away from them? Let me know in the comments below. Also, if you are interested in getting this lipstick, click here to go to the MAC website. Talk to you soon!

STORMS.

Hey guys, today is a bit of a serious post. Throughout our lives we all go through a number of storms. Everything is fine and then something devastating takes us off guard. Something messes up the path we thought we were on or causes us to lose our way.

One thing you need to know when going through something horrible is that it won't last forever. Even if the situation may seem like it will last forever, your attitude, the amount of pain it causes you and how much it effects you will eventually change. Storms are a part of life, and whether or not we like them, they come and go. We have a certain amount of bad times that we are going to go through.

Sometimes I think it helps a little to wallow in the pain a bit and feel miserable. It helps us to grieve; to understand that we lost something, someone or a even the idea of the life you thought you were going to have. But at some point, we need to pull ourselves together and face it head on. We need to get back to our lives and not let the situation break us. There is a time when enough is and enough and you have to decide to fight it. It may not be ideal that this happened or that you feel this way but you can get through it. Just take one day at a time. Eventually the rain will stop.
